So calling something Altitude in a midwestern state seems pretty weak, but it is probably the first resort sanctioned gay ski weekend in this part of the country. It also kinda bugs me that they are not mentioning snowboarders, but that may just take a bit of educatin'

I'm thinking of going. It's not very expensive, but then the hills are not that big. Its Feb 9-11. There are pretty decent ski/stay deals at the basic Lutsen wed site.

Here's a link for some basic info on Altitude:

Its always nice to have somebody along to split costs and to talk with during the drive up. I'll be snowboarding at Northstar on one of those two days, maybe both. Send me a message if you want to come along. I've got a Honda Element, so there's room for two passengers and gear.

Ski, snowboard, and get down at our Alpine Meadows Chalet!
Dates: Fri Jan 13 – Wed Jan 18… We leave in 11 days!

Anyone in for a few days of skiing, snowboarding, hot tubbing, sauna-ing, dancing your as off, and drinking with a bunch of good friends? Well, this is it! Check out this year’s trip to Alpine Meadows, it’s gonna be a goodie!

New News:
What can I say… this trip just keeps getting better and better! We now have on board an *additional* dj for the week: Aaron Jae from EvilBreaks. That is, in addition to Trav from Seismic and Big Dolla Bill from Fringe. Damn… we are going to rock the house!
Honestly, I'm more excited about this one than any of the ones I've thrown so far.

Here's the details (everything below is included in the price):
* Fully stocked kitchen: for meat-eaters and veggies. And good food too!
* We'll have all the fixins for you to be able to make lunches to take to the mountain so you don't have to spend a twenty on a bowl of soup and a soda.
* We've got a giant house right on the backside of Alpine Meadows' Sherwood lift... it's actually ski down to Sherwood lift!
* Jacuzzi, pool table, sauna room
* DJ's spinning for nighttime parties
* Kegs flowin’ all weekend long.

Lodging:
Our huge cabin is off the Sherwood Lift on the backside of Alpine. The cabin has a pool table, Jacuzzi, and 10-person sauna room! Yup, check the pics on the website, baby.
And for some reason I've managed to make this the cheapest trip yet: stay almost a week for $189! And the best part is once you get there, you don't have to drive since we are walking distance to the lifts!

How do I sign up?
**********************
Go to http://www.dimension0.com and look for the MLK trip and click the "sign up" button. You are not guarenteed a spot until you sign up and pay online!
The dates are Fri Jan 13 – Wed Jan 18th, and one price fits all.
This trip is guaranteed to sell out, so be sure to purchase your trip soon!

If you guys know us, Walden and I will be running this trip, so feel free to email either of us with questions. I will be organizing all the carpooling, so be sure to fill out the carpooling questionnaire when you sign up. There will also be questions about food preferences (veggie / non-veggie) so we know what to buy.

Bedspace on this trip is not guaranteed - it's first come first serve every night. There should be plenty of beds at the cabin, and plenty of room to grab a couch or space somewhere, but be sure to bring a sleeping bag and pillow in case you decide to party all night and hit the sack at 4am. The house will tend to be more crowded on the weekend (fri/sat/sun) than on mon/tues/wed, but feel free to stay the whole time if you can swing the time off of work!

We'll be matching up people in carpools, and we'll see you up there!
Don’t forget your bikinis!
Total Payment: $189.
Questions?
Email ibsnazzy@gmail.com
See you at Alpine!

Who's Colorado and what is anybody getting for passes this year. I expect to get my Colorado pass next week, and if I can swing it a new Board and Bindings for the new year. I bought a kick ass pair of boots and pants for last year. I guess after being a Skiier for 15 years my equiptment was getting dated. Ewww. And sexy Ski pants weren't cutting the new snowboard habit. Well new, this will be season 6 on the board this year. Maybe I can nail down that 180 finally. Right now it's touch and go. sometimes I nail it sometimes I eat it. But I'm really about trees and moguls. Well the trees help my technical ability on the bumps. You can cheat on the wide open trails but in the trees you are more likely to eat bark I suppose.

Rabble rabble Rabble....

So anybody want to ride with me this year?

My favorite resorts in my budget this year are Keystone and Vail. I found some sweet spots at Keystone that are not for the light hearted and only open on the big powder days. And Vail is an enigma that I yet to fully explore. I'm really not big on resorts but once you get on the back sides where the crowds disperse and the hard core flourish you forget how sickening the tourists are. I'm also down for back country, but I don't have a beacon or enough avalanch training so I tend to stay more subdude like Loveland pass, tow ropes behind a 4x4, kamakazie hot tub crashing, drunken sledding, oh wait I'm wandering again.

I live in Colorado now, I've also hung up the ski's and picked up boarding, but a lot of my friends are still skiiers and I would have to say that we spend more time inbetween trees bombing down the steeps than barging through tourist hell on the slopes.
